Moxibustion

One of the many ways to stimulate the various acupuncture points on the body to alter function and promote healing, is by adding heat to the points.

There are many ways to do this. The traditional way is to burn a particular herb called artemisia mugwort known as moxa. There are various ways to use the heat of this burning herb to precisely heat various points on the body without causing burns.

This is often utilized in the treatment of old injury pain, as well as certain conditions defined as "cold" conditions.
